Project Genesis is an all-volunteer citizen-science project conducted throughout the beekeeping season. Data-collection days alternate between Saturday and Sunday every other week, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. You can check our events calendar for our Data Days in 2020.
Center for Honeybee Research has 20 honeybee colonies situated in two equal ‘yards’ (Upper and Lower) with 10 hives in each location. Inspections follow an established protocol with data sheets completed by teams of 2-3 volunteers.
Attendance is open to the community. Participation in a data collection day does not obligate the attendee to commit to future dates. We encourage the community to come out and participate.
